Two Churches
The purpose of the website: adayindavid.com is sharing with my family my beliefs informed by years of scripture study, personal experience, and prayer. It is open to all but my target audience has been and continues to be my family. Recently my reflections have been about patriarchal blessings and family. This morning I read the end of 2 Nephi 3 and all of 4. 2 Nephi 3 explains blessings given to Joseph of Egypt passing through to generations of his poster

The Confluence of Prophetic Events - The Gravity of the Moment
The last paper was titled, “The Lord Reveals His Arm to the Gentiles.” The body of the paper was introductory to the Lord’s actual revelation of His “Arm” or His servant sent to the Gentiles. At the conclusion of the paper several links were provided to a YouTube video of Denver Snuffer’s talk: “The Holy Order, Part 3, Adoption” with the associated transcript. In Denver’s talk he describes three ascending levels of understanding applying to all who hear or read his

The Lord “Reveals His Arm” to the Gentiles
The introduction of the Doctrine and Covenants warns the world the Lord’s day of judgment is coming. This warning arrived November 1, 1831. “Hearken, O you people of my church, says the voice of him who dwells on high, and whose eyes are upon all men. Yea, truly I say, hearken you people from afar, and you that are upon the islands of the sea, listen together, for truly the voice of the Lord is unto all men, and there is none to escape. And there is no eye that shall not see,

Babylon to Zion
While discussing challenges a strengthening dollar imposed on global currencies, a commentator recited a story of Egypt in approximately 1200 B.C., when Ramesses III was Pharoah. Egypt was the dominant power in the known world. A warrior class of people known as “sea people” invaded and conquered many countries around Egypt who traded goods with them. Having great success against smaller, less powerful Egyptian trade partners, “sea people” decided to challenge Egypt

Simple Means - Part 4 : “Due Time of the Lord” Prophecies
Joseph of Egypt’s Prophecy Joseph of Egypt shared a prophecy with his brothers prior to his death. Like Ezekiel’s prophecy of sticks of Judah and Joseph being united, [1] Joseph of Egypt said: “Therefore your [Joseph of Egypt’s] offspring will write [the record of Joseph’s posterity], and Judah’s offspring will write [Bible, record of Judah]. The Lord says: The things your offspring write, and the things Judah’s offspring write, will grow together in order to expose

“Simple Means” - Part 3 : “Due Time of the Lord”
In Teachings and Commandments 82 the Lord condemned “the children of Zion, even all.” Note the Lord didn’t limit His condemnation to the weakest of saints. Children of Zion are presumed to be the pinnacle of righteousness at the time of this revelation. Those inhabiting Zion must be “of one heart, one mind, dwelt in righteousness, and there was no poor among them.” [1] The closest to qualifying as “children of Zion” fell short of the Lord’s standard and were condemned by Him.

“Simple Means” - Part 2
The Lord revealed to Nephi “small means” are used to promote righteousness among the repentant or to destroy rebellious Gentiles in the last days. God’s judgments are suspended for now but His scourging of Gentiles continues until they receive sufficient light to repent or reach a fullness of iniquity. “Then the Angel of the Lord told me: The Lamb of God says: After I’ve judged the remnant of the house of Israel (referring to your father’s [Lehi’s] descendants), after punishi

“Simple Means” Part 1
Alma the younger approached the end of his mortal life and ministry. He prepared for his departure by delivering to his son, Helaman, records, artifacts, and instruments from God. They originally were in the possession of the kings of Zarahemla until the death of Mosiah, the son of Benjamin. During the reign of the righteous king’s additional scriptures were accumulated; expanding the canon of scripture. We recognized Kings led the people of Zarahemla through a cove

Additional Role of Interpreters in Last Days Prophecy
Clarification: In the “Awake and Arise” series, I may have incorrectly conflated the stone tablet of Coriantumr with twenty-four plates discovered by Limhi’s people. Both records were passed down from kings to Alma and his son, Helaman. The stone tablet with the record of the Jaredites is partially shared in Moroni’s abridgment in the Book of Ether. Confusion arises because they represent separate societies occupying the same land who suffer the same fate. Both became wicke

Israel Awakes and Arises : Part 7 - The Lord’s Primary Objective Finale
The Primary Objective the Lord Accomplishes When Moses led Israel to Sinai it was to introduce the people into the Lord’s presence. [1] In the beginning of the Restoration Joseph Smith sought to do the same for the faithful in Nauvoo unsuccessfully. During the fullness of the Gentiles the Davidic king gathers faithful Gentiles and scattered Israel. They establish Zion and receive the Lord’s presence. [2] The Lord’s servant follows the pattern set by kings of Zarahem

Israel Awakes and Arises - Part 6 : Personal Representation Before the Lord
From the beginning of the Restoration through Joseph Smith the Lord stated His intended objectives for mankind and how He guides the willing: “Wherefore, I, the Lord, knowing the calamity which should come upon the inhabitants of the earth, called upon my servant Joseph and spoke unto him from Heaven, and gave him commandment, and also gave commandments to others that they should proclaim these things unto the world. And all this that it might be fulfilled which was written b

Israel Awakes and Arises : Part 5 - Three Royal Generations in the Covenant of Christ
Initial papers on this subject laid the foundation for Parts 5 and 6. Three Nephite kings, Mosiah, Benjamin and Mosiah [grandson] reflect personal attributes and events of the latter-day Davidic king. Their collective reign over the people of Zarahemla represent a pattern for Israel’s gathering in the last days. The account of three monarchs provides a foundation for a new covenant made with God when the reign of kings concludes. Thereafter, Alma the younger and sons of Mosia

Israel Awakes and Arises - Part 4 : The Covenant of Christ’s Royal Trifecta
In the context of scripture, a “type” applies past events as examples for the future. Many times they do so with precise parallels. Joseph Smith explained a descendant of king David and Joseph of Egypt will be raised by the Lord to obtain the Spirit of Elijah and the fullness of the Priesthood. [1] The Davidic servant unites tribes of Ephraim [son of Joseph] and Judah [2] through three steps of Priesthood progression, the Spirits of Elias [Aaronic], Elijah [Patriarchal], and

Israel Awakes and Arises - Part 3 : The Covenant of Christ and the Perfect Type for Israel’s Gathering
The Covenant of Christ [modern English version of the Book of Mormon] speaks plainly to latter-day Gentiles in many ways. It is a mistake to consider it purely historical. The purpose of the record is to inform us and affirm the Savior’s divinity and the legitimacy of the Bible as a record of God’s dealings with mankind. Providing further elaboration on a less understood use of the Covenant of Christ, Denver Snuffer said: “I’ve thought the Book of Mormon [Covenant of Christ]

Israel Awakes and Arises - Part 2 : Precepts & David
Previous papers posted on this website address many aspects relating to a latter-day David and the gathering of Israel. There is no dearth of material on these subjects in the scriptures and this website. In the previous paper it was noted the reason for the Gentile rejection of the Gospel fullness is because of precepts of men. Pointing out those precepts could be a sole subject for a paper. This paper points to one glaring example directly relating to this content

Israel Awakes and Arises - Part 1
The last paper posted on this website explains why the Gentiles approach to the last days should be with a degree of humility. The metaphor of two ships passing in opposing directions describes the covenant transition from the Gentiles to Israel. This is the final transition before the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Israel remains in its scattered state throughout Gentile nations until the Gentiles reject the offer of covenant from the Lord because of the precepts of men. [1]

A Great Cause for Humility Among Latter-day Gentiles - The Proverbial “Stiff Drink Time”
Many reading this blog are from the United States. Others are from Asia, Europe, and far reaches of the Earth. Scattered throughout these nations are remnants of Israel. They dwell among Gentile nations. Gentile nations and Israel’s remnant are two ships passing in the prophetic night in opposing directions. The Gentiles enjoy extraordinary prosperity and power throughout the world. They squandered and mocked God’s offer of covenant from Joseph Smith’s day and now.

Sacrificing Honesty When A Broken Heart is Required “. . . it came to pass that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Lord.”
Perplexity describes my feelings after repeated readings of the “Mousetrap” talk by Denver Snuffer Jr. There have been numerous attempts at explaining the substance of the talk. Nothing I’ve read or heard left me confident the opinions expressed accurately explain what Denver intended to convey. Including my own. Urgency to understand the talk was increased when Denver stressed the gravity of his remarks by saying: “ People do not yet realize The Perfect Mousetrap is the m

The Father’s Path - Part 2
Phillip’s Request for the Lord to Introduce the Father Introducing anyone to the Father is no small matter. Knowing the Father is to know the Son. Knowing the Son is the same as knowing the Father. Being in possession of that knowledge qualifies one for Eternal Life if they are prepared to be there because they are like Them and one with Them. [1] “Then Jesus looked up to Heaven and said these words, Father, the hour has arrived. Let your light abide with

The Father’s Path - Part 1 : “No man cometh to the Father but by me”
In the 9 th chapter of John Restoration Edition, Jesus responds to Peter’s question: “Where are you going?” The Savior explains to His disciples: “. . .Where I go, you cannot follow me now , but you shall follow me afterward . . . ” (RE John 9:6; emphasis added). The Savior continues His explanation saying the Father’s kingdom has “ many mansions ” and He goes to prepare places for His disciples. The same conversation in the Testimony of Saint John has a more complete re
